While there are rumors of a price cut in US, Microsoft announces that they are about to cut the price of the Xbox 360 by 30% to better compete with their rivals during the holiday season.
The entry level model (without hard drive) new price will be around $183. The standard model with 60GB, $275. The high-end model with 120GB will cost $368. The new prices will take into account in September 11.

So apparently the rumors about the US price cut are true! The Arcade version is a mere $200 starting September 5th, which is a steal even if it doesn't come with a hard drive.
However, before you plan on getting one at that price, you might want to try getting one for free through this Stacker 2 contest going on where you can win one (or a PS3, winner's choice) just by designing a 6 Hour Power t-shirt. There are less than 275 entrants as of now, and it's surprisingly easy to design a shirt online. Check out the details here: http://www.brickfish.com/Entertainment/Stacker2?tab=overview
By the way, I hope you don't mind me commenting on your post, am6135. I work with 6HP so if anyone has any questions or enter let me know... I'll definitely vote for your designs. Good luck!
